In 1991 Latvia became independent. From that moment on, the development of its capital Riga gained momentum. Nowadays, old and new go hand in hand. The centre is compact and easily accessible, which makes it easy to see a lot in little time. This makes Riga an ideal destination for a city trip...
Modern and cosmopolitan has never had such an old-world flavour as in the hauntingly beautiful city of Riga. In addition to being the absolute hotspot of the Baltic region, Riga is also a world-heritage listed site where you can take in some truly awe-inspiring architecture while wandering along the charming cobbled streets of the Old Town. Restaurants and shopping opportunities within Riga are nothing short of excellent, with an exciting selection of innovative restaurants to tantalise your taste-buds and an inviting combination of international brands and independents stores on offer throughout the city.
