The metropolitan city of Munich is the third largest in Germany, and the second most popular tourist destination in the country after Berlin. Known for its fascinating architecture and rich culture, Munich may surprise you with its hi-tech industry and trendy shopping boutiques...
The historic Marienplatz is the beating heart of Munich. Relax on one of the terraces and enjoy the stunning architecture. Nearby you’ll find the Viktualienmarkt: a daily market with flowers, fresh vegetables and a wide variety of German sausages. Would you like to see the city from above? Climb the tower of the St Peter’s Church for a spectacular view. Art lovers should definitely visit the Pinakothek museums: the Alte Pinakothek, the Neue Pinakothek, and the Pinakothek der Moderne. Each of them highlights a different period in art and they are all in walking distance to each other.
