Take a trip back in time as you walk amongst the cobbled streets of Alghero’s medieval centre, to savour the locally sourced foods and stunning coastlines that mark this destination as so unmistakably Italian. Not only is Alghero the ideal spot from which you can take in the natural delights of the region, you can also use it as a great base from which to explore the whole of the North-West of Italy...
Alghero, which was established by settlers from Valencia and Barcelona in the 12th century, is located on the western coast. The narrow, cobblestone alleys that wind down to the harbour and beautiful bay from Alghero’s medieval citadel are filled with small boutiques, bars and restaurants. It is the most picturesque historical city in Sardinia. Long sandy beaches, surrounded by forests, hotels and bars, lead to green headlands. The view is idyllic.
